Starting and choosing a campaign
Setting up your campaign · guide 1 of 5
Everything you build in Critsmith lives inside a campaign: its places, NPCs, fights and story. Here's how to start one, and how to move between them.
Your campaigns
When you log in, you land on Your campaigns. Every campaign you have is listed here, with the rules it uses.
To start a new one, press Create another campaign. If it's your very first, the button says Create your first campaign.
Start a new campaign
The line at the top shows how many active campaigns your plan lets you keep, and how many you have left. The Free plan keeps one, Standard keeps two, and Archmage Tier keeps twenty.
Type a name for your campaign. Anything you like, and you can change it later.
The ruleset is the 2024 rules, the only one for now.
Then press Create campaign.
Critsmith takes you straight to its Build page. This is now the campaign you're working on, so everything you make from here goes into it.
A new campaign also switches the guide back on, so its tips can show you round. Press the signpost any time to turn it off.
Move between your campaigns
To work on a different campaign, press Back to campaigns at the top of the Build page.
Your new campaign is in the list now, beside the first. Press a campaign's name to open it.
Each one keeps its own world, so an NPC in one campaign never turns up in another. Your homebrew is the exception: you can use it in every campaign you run.
And the house icon on the left always takes you back to the campaign you're working on.
That's starting and choosing a campaign. Each world stays tidy and separate, and switching between them takes a couple of clicks.
