Showing the map to your players
Dungeons · guide 3 of 3
Your players can follow the dungeon on their own screens, room by room, as they explore it. No sketching on graph paper, and nothing given away before they get there.
Show the map
Open Dungeons from your Build page, and choose your dungeon.
At the top, press Show this map to the party. The line beside it changes to say your players can see this map. One dungeon is shown at a time, and the party is moved to the dungeon's place on your map.
At first, your players see nothing at all. Rooms only appear on their map as the party reaches them.
Reveal a room
When the party walks in, open that room under Rooms, or click it on the map, and press Mark the party as here. The room goes onto their map with a dot showing where they are, along with any corridor it opens onto through an archway or an open door. If no map is being shown yet, this turns it on for you.
Rooms also appear by themselves when a fight in them ends, or when a puzzle in them is solved, so that's one less thing to remember mid-session.
What your players see
Players only see the shapes. No room names, no room types, and no secret or hidden doors, so your surprises stay surprises.
Hide a room again
Revealed a room too early? Press Hide again, and it comes off their map. Hide again only takes back that one room, so if a corridor came with it, hide that as well.
Your players need to refresh their Map tab to see a newly revealed room, as it doesn't update on its own.
Stop showing the map
When the party leaves, press Stop showing this map. The rooms they've explored are remembered, so showing it again later puts the same map back.
That's showing the map to your players. They see how far they've come, and you keep your secrets.
