Your plan keeps a set number of campaigns active at once. Shelving, the vault and deleting are how you make room, without losing work you want to keep.
Shelve a campaign
Here on Your campaigns, every active campaign has a Shelve button underneath it.

Your campaigns, with Shelve under each active campaign
Press Shelve, and Critsmith tells you exactly what will happen before anything changes. Press OK to go ahead.
app.critsmith.com says
Shelve "The Sunken Crown"? It stops being one of your active campaigns and frees up a campaign slot, so you can start or activate another one. Nothing is deleted. Every NPC, location, note and session stays exactly as it is, and you can still read all of it, but you will not be able to change anything until you make it active again. One thing to know before you do this: on the free plan you can only switch to a DIFFERENT campaign once every 30 days. Bringing this same one back is always allowed, and paid plans have no wait at all.

Critsmith tells you what shelving does before anything changes
Nothing is deleted. Every NPC, location, note and session stays exactly as it is. The campaign just stops using one of your slots, so you can start or open another.
Read or bring back a shelved campaign
Shelved campaigns move to the bottom of the list and fold down to their name. You can still open one and read all of it, but editing is switched off until you make it active again.
The Sunken Crown is shelved. Editing is switched off.
Everything is still here and you can read all of it. Nothing can be added or changed until you make this campaign active again.
Deleting still works, so you can clear space without bringing the campaign back. Edit buttons still respond, but nothing you change will be saved.
Make active
A shelved campaign opens to read, with editing switched off
To bring it back, press Details under its name, then Make active.

On the Free plan, you can switch to a different campaign once every 30 days. Bringing back the one you shelved most recently is always allowed, and paid plans have no wait at all.
The vault
If a paid plan ends, you keep everything as it is for a 30-day grace period. After that, any active campaigns your plan no longer covers go into the vault, keeping the ones you played most recently.
The next time you sign in, a notice names each campaign that went in. Again, nothing is deleted. You can still read and export everything in the vault.

Nothing has been deleted. They are still here to read and to export, just not to play or edit.
The Sunken Crown
The Ashen Road
The ones you had not played for longest went in when your paid month ended and your plan no longer covered them.
Subscribing again makes room, and you choose which one comes back.

The notice naming each campaign that went into the vault
When your plan has room, for example after you shelve a campaign or subscribe again, a Bring back button appears beside each one. Suggested marks the campaign you played most recently, but the choice is yours. And your first one back won't start the Free plan's 30-day wait.

Delete a campaign
Deleting is the one thing that can't be undone, so Critsmith walks you through it carefully.
Press Delete under a campaign. For a shelved one, it's inside Details.
Critsmith counts up everything that will go: the NPCs, locations, scenes, sessions and the rest.
It also tells you what stays. Anything you've published to the DM-atabase stays up, still credited to you. And if a player has their own account, we keep a copy of their character sheet for them for 90 days.
Want a copy first? Press JSON, MD or PDF to download the whole campaign before it goes.
Then type the campaign's name, capitals don't matter, and press Delete permanently.
Delete The Sunken Crown?
This is permanent. There is no recycle bin and nothing to restore it from afterwards.

What stays
2 things you published to the DM-atabase stay up, still credited to you. Manage your submissions if you would rather take them down first.
3 of the 4 character sheets belong to players with their own accounts. We keep a copy of each of those sheets for its player for 90 days. You do not get them back, and nothing else about the campaign survives.

Delete permanentlyCancel
Delete, with what goes, what stays and the name typed to confirm
There's no recycle bin, so it's gone for good. Critsmith takes you back to Your campaigns and confirms it was deleted.
The Sunken Crown was deleted.
3 players had their own accounts, so we kept a copy of each of their character sheets for them.
