Getting your players into a game should take minutes, not a whole session. Critsmith gives you three ways to do it, so you can pick whatever suits your table.
On your campaign's Build page, open Players and Character Sheets, and press New character.
The line at the top shows how many characters your plan allows, and how many you've used. Each new character takes its place straight away.

New player character, with the three ways to make one
Create with Wizard
First, Create with Wizard. It builds the character with you one step at a time: identity, class and level, ability scores, skills and saves, hit points and armour class, attacks, spells, and finally equipment. It only offers choices the rules allow, and the ability scores use the method you set in your campaign settings.
It saves as you go. Leave halfway, and the character waits under In progress on your Characters page. Press Resume to carry on.

On the last step, pick the starting equipment, and press Finish and grant equipment. The items and gold go onto the sheet. That only happens once, so choose carefully.
Choose your starting equipment. Finishing grants these items and gold to your character. This happens once and cannot be redone.

Invite a player
Second, Invite a player. This is the quickest. Choose the level the player builds their character at, and give the character a name if you like. Type your player's email, and press Create and email invite.

Fill in the sheet myself
Third, Fill in the sheet myself. This is a blank sheet, for a character you already know the details of. Only the name and class are needed, so you can save the basics now and finish the rest later. Press Next, and you land on the character's own page.

Hand a character to a player
Made the character yourself, with the wizard or the sheet? You can still hand it to a player. On the character's page, the Invite box sends the same invite, so your player takes over a sheet that's already filled in.
