Sharing your own work

The DM-atabase · guide 2 of 2

Made an NPC your players still talk about, or a dungeon you're proud of? Share it to the DM-atabase, and other Game Masters can use it at their own tables, with your name on it.

Choose a public handle

First, you need a public handle. Press Community on the left, and open Your contributor profile. Choose a handle, like GrimsbyGM, and press Save handle. It's shown on everything you share, and your email never is.

Your profile

Your profile also counts your work. Shared is everything you've sent in. Live is how many have been approved. And Imports is how many times other Game Masters have copied one of your entries. Press View public page to see what everyone else sees.

Share something

To share something, go to the thing itself. An NPC, encounter, puzzle or item, from its edit page. A dungeon, from its own page. Open Share to community library, choose a category if you like, and press Share for review.

Your campaign keeps its own copy. For an NPC, encounter, puzzle or item, you can tick to archive yours from the campaign as you share it, but you don't have to.

For homebrew, use Share to the DM-atabase, at the foot of its edit page.

Follow it through review

Everything goes to a moderator before it goes live. My submissions, on the Community page, shows where each one has got to, and lights up when something has changed.

If it comes back

If one comes back as Returned, the reviewer's feedback is shown at the top. Open it, change it right there, press Save changes, and then Resubmit for review. You can also Withdraw it from the queue, or Delete it permanently.

That's sharing your own work. Your best ideas, helping Game Masters everywhere.
