Using Critsmith on a phone
Getting started · guide 4 of 4
Most Game Masters plan at a desk, but Critsmith works on a phone too, so you can check your notes or jot something down wherever you are.
The note at the top
The Game Master's side of Critsmith is built for a laptop or computer, though, so on a phone a note at the top of every page says so.
Everything still works. You'll just have a much better experience on a bigger screen, especially for planning.
Press Got it, and the note goes away. Critsmith remembers that in this phone's browser, for your account, so you won't see it again there.
If someone else signs in on the same phone, they'll see it once too.
What changes on a smaller screen
The icons down the left get a little smaller, so they fit whole beside your page.
The line that says who you're signed in as, and your plan, moves to the top of the page instead of floating in the corner.
The session bar
The session bar at the bottom shrinks to one thin line, giving the page more room. Press Log a note to open it, type your note, and save it as usual. Press Hide to fold it away again.
If you've started typing, it stays open, so a half-written note is never lost.
Lists, the quest map and the dungeon map
Rows in your lists wrap onto two lines, so names stay readable, and the tags and buttons move underneath.
The quest map scrolls sideways, and opens with your main quest in the middle, so you're not hunting for it.
And the dungeon generator's map shrinks to fit your screen, with plus and minus buttons to zoom in on a room.
Your players
Your players get the best of it. The player side of Critsmith is made for phones, so they can follow along from their seats.
So plan your campaign on the big screen, and keep your phone handy at the table for quick notes, saving you time when the game is in full swing.
That's Critsmith on a phone.
