Joining a game

For players · guide 1 of 9

Your Game Master has invited you to their game. In a few minutes, you'll have your character on your own screen, ready to play from any device.

Claim your invite

Open the invite link your Game Master sent you. You'll see you've been invited. If you're new, fill in the form and press Sign up. If you already have an account, use the Log in link under the form, and you'll come straight back to claim it.

Once it says Invite claimed, the character is yours.

Build your character

Next, build your character. There are two ways.

The two ways to build your character

Guided creation steps you through species, class, ability scores, skills, spells and starting equipment, one at a time. It only offers choices the rules allow, and fills in the details for you. You can stop part way, and carry on later from the same step.

Or press Build it myself, to go straight to your character sheet and fill everything in by hand. A line at the top tells you what's still needed.

Lock it in

When your character is ready, press Lock in. After that, your species, class, background, scores, skills, languages and tools are set, and if something's wrong, your Game Master can unlock it for you.

If an invite can't be claimed

If a link says it couldn't be claimed, it may already have been used, or been withdrawn. Just ask your Game Master for a new one.

If a campaign is deleted

And if your Game Master ever deletes a campaign you're playing in, your character sheet is saved for you, for ninety days. You'll see it under Saved for you. Press Keep this character to move it into a campaign of your own, where you can still play it, or Remove to let it go for good.
