Finding your way around

Getting started · guide 2 of 4

Every page in Critsmith has the same few controls, so once you know them, you can get anywhere. Here's what each one does.

The icons down the left

Start with the icons down the left-hand side. Hold your pointer over any of them, and a label tells you what it does.

The icons down the left-hand side

The house is Home. It takes you to the campaign you're working on, or, if you haven't picked one yet, to your list of campaigns.

The map is Run campaign. That's the run sheet you play a session from, with your acts and scenes in order.

The two figures are Community, where Game Masters share their NPCs, encounters, puzzles, items, dungeons and homebrew.

The cog is Account. It holds the settings for your whole account: your default campaign settings, your campaign data, and billing.

The signpost turns the guide on and off. That has a guide of its own.

And the last icon logs you out.

The blue i

Next, the blue i. You'll find it beside the title on most pages.

Press it, and a panel opens on the right, explaining what that page is for and how to use it.

Press the i again, or the cross, to close it.

Switching to the player view

If you also play a character as a player, there's one more icon on the left: Switch to player view.

It takes you to Your characters, the player's side of Critsmith.

Each row shows a character, its campaign, and the Game Master who runs it. Press one to open its sheet.

To come back, press Switch to DM view at the top.

That's finding your way around. The icons on the left to get about, the blue i whenever you need help, and you're never more than a click from home.
