The character sheet

Characters · guide 1 of 5

Every player character has one page that holds it all, and Critsmith does the sums for you. So you spend less time checking numbers, and more time running the game.

Open a character

On your campaign's Build page, open Players and Character Sheets, and pick a character.

Characters, with every player character in the campaign

The sheet itself

At the top is the sheet itself: Identity, Ability scores, Combat stats, Skills & saves, and Story and notes, where the player's backstory, appearance and personality live. You can read and edit all of it. When you're done, press Save and finish at the foot of that box. Every box below it saves by itself.

In play

Under In play is what changes during a session. In At the table, press Give inspiration to hand the character Heroic Inspiration. They hold one at a time, and the player spends it from their own sheet.

At the table, with Give inspiration

Exhaustion goes from nought to six, with the minus and plus buttons. A line underneath says what that level does to their rolls and speed, so nobody has to look it up.

When they cast a spell and concentrate on it, the spell shows here, with Stop to end it.

Armour Class

Armour Class is worked out for you, never typed, and the card shows exactly how. Only armour and a shield marked Wearing count, and an item that needs attunement only gives its magic once it's marked Attuned.

Boons and penalties

Something else changing their numbers? A blessing, a curse, a plus one to Strength? Add it under Boons and penalties. The player can switch Wearing and Attuned on their own sheet, but only you can add boons and penalties.

A boon added, and the form to add another

Defences

Defences lists the character's resistances, immunities and vulnerabilities, and any conditions they're immune to. Most come from their traits, feats and items by themselves. To add another, press Add a defence.

Build

Under Build is what changes between sessions. Features and traits, Proficiencies and languages, and Feats are all worked out from the character's classes, species and background. Anything still to be picked says Choose. Pick it and press Choose, or press Remove to choose again. Once the character is made, only you can change their languages, tools and feats.

The DM-only box

Last, the box marked DM-only. Players never see it. Set the character's status here, active, deceased or retired, and press Update. And keep your private notes about them, with Save notes.

Your private box: status, gold and notes

That's the character sheet. Everything about a character, kept right, in one place.
